A jetty is a breakwater constructed to protect or defend a harbor, stretch of coast, or riverbank. The Bearskin Neck Jetty that protects Rockport Harbor was first constructed in 1839. This iconic landmark is representative of Rockport's past, present, and future. Emett Smith is a Boston-based graphic designer passionate about bold fonts and even bolder color pallets. After graduating from the New England Institute of Art in 2016, he has worked consistently in advertising and communications, finding rewarding work within the political, labor, and environmental justice sectors. He is excited to learn new skills and regularly explores new avenues for creative inspiration in his downtime, such as; digital illustration, painting, upcycling, amateur mixology, resin crafting, lithography, photography, and writing. Emett admires art and design's power to tell stories and connect people – whether over a common cause or a cold pint – and strives to show that in his work.
