Alessandra grew up in Florence, Italy exposed to the arts and all things beautiful. When she moved to the north shore of Boston, she began experimenting with her creativity after collecting glass, pottery, shells, drift wood and old metal from the beach. She discovered that the art of mosaic was the most natural way to bring together the meaningful pieces she collected and to express her creative nature and her love for the ocean. With time Alessandra started researching different methods and new materials including colorful Italian or Mexican Smalti glass, fossils and recycled metal and wood.
Her one-of-a-kind mosaics tell a story with their unique elements many of which have a patina of time.
Brian and Theresa Orr are a father and daughter team who love making imaginative paper art pieces inspired by a range of topics. Brian and Theresa began Paperworrk (previously known as Orr Galleries) in 2018, inspired by stained glass, quilting, and the beautiful prints of the specialty handmade papers. Brian and Theresa sketch, cut and “paint” their art, resulting in wonderful displays of color. They often use recycled materials in their work such as wooden boards or glass windows and look for inspiration in the world around them. Their originals range from $75 to $1000. Brian and Theresa are available for commissioned work and would love to hear from you!
